Talimena National Scenic Byway

Route Details

This 55 mile route starts in the small town of Talihina, Oklahoma. Head east out of town using Route 1, which will take you to the end of the route in Mena, Arkansas. The road takes riders along the ridgeline of the Winding Stair Mountains and Rich Mountain, providing stellar views to enjoy. 

Recommended Experience Level

Given the sharp curves, switchbacks, and 13% grades, this route is not recommended for totally beginner riders. The road conditions are not always ideal, so be on alert for potholes.

The Best of 66

Route Details

This 40 mile route takes you along Route 66. It starts in Stroud, Oklahoma, and ends in Arcadia.

Recommended Experience Level

This route is fine for beginners, just be sure to be prepared for plenty of curves.

  • Cruise down this patch of Route 66 and enjoy beautiful views and plenty of photograph opportunities.
  • The end of the route puts you near Arcadia Lake and Park if you want to experience some nature.
  • There are plenty of towns and small shops throughout the trip.
