Talimena National Scenic Byway
Route Details
This 55 mile route starts in the small town of Talihina, Oklahoma. Head east out of town using Route 1, which will take you to the end of the route in Mena, Arkansas. The road takes riders along the ridgeline of the Winding Stair Mountains and Rich Mountain, providing stellar views to enjoy.
Recommended Experience Level
Given the sharp curves, switchbacks, and 13% grades, this route is not recommended for totally beginner riders. The road conditions are not always ideal, so be on alert for potholes.

This route is fine for beginners, just be sure to be prepared for plenty of curves.
